The Start Of A Sneaker Head
Collecting Air Jordans is an addiction that began about four years ago. The day was on December 24, 2009 when I bought my first pair of Jordans, called the retro 11 "Space Jams". It was a long cold night waiting in line for about four hours outside the Mall.The shoes were to release at midnight, but it was worth the wait because I fell in love with them.
The reason that made me buy these shoes was because of one of my favorite childhood movies called Space Jam. The first time I saw the movie Space Jam was around the year 2000 in which Micheal Jordan comes out wearing these shoes. In that same year the Space Jam sneakers were released to the public for the first time. At that time I was too young to realize how rare the shoes are and that they would be sold out quick. Ten years pass and I heard they were releasing in December of 2009, I had to have them!
Up to this day the retro 11 Space Jam is one of the most rare and wanted air Jordans. The retail price for my shoe size was 120 when they were released ,now people are willing to pay up to 350 dollars for them. The men size shoes can go for double the amount. Now in days people have to be updated on the release dates for the air Jordans because if they do not buy the shoes right when they come out the shoes will be sold out in a matter of hours. For the people who miss out on the shoes after they sell out, have to end up paying a serious amount of cash for their pair.
After buying this pair of shoes I became addicted to buying Jordans because I loved them so much. Now I have so many that I lost count after the 30th pair. This little shoe addiction is becoming a problem because I have no more space in my room to fit them anymore. It is hard keeping all the shoes clean in their original boxes still looking brand new. People always ask why do u need so many? but they just don't understand, everyone has there hobby and mine is collecting Jordan shoes.
Even though I love Jordans I don't buy every single Jordan shoe that comes out. I only like buying the original colorways that Micheal Jordan wore during some of his games ,or the ones that I know will be worth a lot in the future. Sometimes when I buy a pair I wont even wear them till a year passes by just to make sure that I wont be matching with a random person on the street. Some people don't understand why I keep on buying more shoes, but only one sneaker head can understand the other.
